Lake Prez is an absolutely beautiful course. The course was in very good shape throughout the greens, rough, and fairways. This place is the real deal, if you are looking for a great experience Lake Prez is the place to go.

Played several months ago and it was excellent. Now about half the greens look like they've been replaced, are shaggy and recently sanded. There are big patches of fairways undergoing re-sodding. What a disappointment. Overall in terrible shape. Hundreds of workers all over the place. One of the marshalls said the heat and rain in July clobbered the course.

Played Lake Presidential on 8/08/08 after assurances from Ann Ramos (Golf and Event Administrator) that the course was in great shape. I drove over 1 hour in rush hour traffic and paid the $100 greens fee. The club house was beautiful and the staff very cordial and accommodating. The practice range was real grass and very lush. The course, however, was another matter. While the course is beautiful, it is not quite ready for play. Many of the fairways on the front nine were saturated with water…it seems to be due to a severe drainage problem. The back nine fairways were in much better shape. However, while there was only one problem green on the front side (don’t remember which one), all but 2 of the greens (11 & 18) on the back nine were in terrible shape….where the grass was alive it was long and shaggy and many had areas of dead grass or recent large patches. Tee boxes were all in pretty good shape but tee marker placement was erratic…on some tee boxes the back tees were on the championship box and on others they were either on the back or middle boxes. I played with a friend and he had the same opinions as me. Overall, wait at least a year and maybe then your'll get your money’s worth.

Early hype and that is about it. The layout is ok but that is about it. Very weak for $100 course, this course needs to be shut down and repaired and it just opened. They even waited a year to open this dog track for what? Rip off not even worth the cost of gas if the round was free.

Had played it about 3 weeks ago and it was in much better shape. Workers on the course keep driving as you are hitting or putting. A marshal would ride out to see where we were when approaching 8 & 9 and 18. Greens are inconsistent and some are burnt out already. Save your $$$$$$

This is a nice course. Every avid golfer should give it a try. It is unlike any other I've played around here. Buy the $8 layout booklet before you play the first time, because there is a lot of blind shots and blind trouble. There is lots of water, and a lot of shaved runoff areas around the greens. It is a beautiful layout and the staff was very helpful and nice. All the tees weren't in play yet, but I believe 3 of five were in play on all the holes. The teeing ground grass was a little long, but the fairways and greens were great.

Just opened last month. Fantastic layout - not one weak hole. Good decision by management to wait until this year to open it. Best green surrounds in the area. If you're not on the green you're in a trap or a collection area twenty yards from it. Will be among the best in the area. Doesn't need to mature much more.
